Dec 3rd 2008 --LG Dacom (CEO Jong-Eung Park, www.lgdacom.net) has revealed that its
myLG070Modem service, an internet calling service, has been well received by
housewives intent on reducing household communication expenses and that the
service has acquired over 15,000 members only 2 months after its commencement.
LG Dacom's myLG070Modem is a convenient service which lets
customers use a household phone to use the myLG070 service.
This service also enables faxing and is expected to be actively
used by businesses with less than 10 employees as well as households. The
customers pay a 2,000 won base fee and no fees for modem rental and installation
if a 1-year contract is signed or pay 3,000 won and 20,000 won per month if no
contract is signed.
On the other hand, the Korea Telecommunications Operators
Association has revealed that the number of members exceeded 133,720 after the
internet telephone number transfer system was implemented. The number of the
members of LG Dacom's myLG070 was 79,340 which comprised 60% of the total
figure.
